The Fault in Our Stars, by John Green (2011)

The Fault in Our StarsThe Fault in Our Stars by John Green
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I made the mistake of starting this book after work. I read all night.

"The Fault of Our Stars" is one of the most moving novels I've ever read.

Hazel and Augustus meet at a support group for "Cancer Kids." They share this horrible Something Big, so that they are able to look past it. They are free to enjoy each other as people, not as victims.

This book is funny, sad, inspirational, and whip-smart. Hazel and Augustus are a great love story, two smart, brave, cynical, teens who laugh and love a lifetime within the limits of their infinities.

Read "The Fault of Our Stars," and that last phrase will make sense.

Absolutely brilliant and unforgettable.

Sorry if my review sucks. But you see, I've been up all night, reading this awesome novel...

(Update: One of my five favorite novels read in 2012)

B.A. in Literature, Minor in Film Theory and Criticism, thus meaning all I’m trained is to write blog posts here. Neptune is my favorite planet–it vents methane into the solar system like my brother does. I think Chicken McNuggets look like Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Indiana. There are times when I’m medicated, which is why I wrote about McNuggets. Buy some today and tell me I’m wrong! Anyway, Beyond that: mammal, Floridian, biped.Good Night, and Good Luck. Besos, tom
